Water-sports

Numerous water-sports are available from various outlets around the beaches and towns.

Scuba Diving / Snorkelling

There are three dive shops within walking distance of the villa offering anything from a try-dive to the chance to dive the Zenobia, one of the top ten wreck dives in the world. See www.tritondive.co.uk (call +357 9938 8116) or just go into one of the dive shops around Pernera and Protaras.

Spa

The Demari spa in Paralimni offers facilities and treatments including a hammam, massage, salt cave, beauty and hair salon and a fitness club. The spa is located at 259 Protaras Avenue, Paralimni, or call +357 2373 1111.

Hiking / trekking

There are eight nature trails around the Cape Greko area, lasting from half an hour to three hours. Details are available from the CTO.

The European Long Distance Path E4 passes close to Pernera. The path connects Cape Greko in the West with Pafos in the East, crossing the Troodos mountains.

Troodos Mountains

A drive through the Troodos area is a fantastic day out, with stunning views and delightful stopping places and hillside villages.

Cycling

The CTO publish a book of suggested routes, both on and off road, some of which pass close to Villa Monica.

Golf

Cyprus has a number of great golf courses. The Cyprus Golf Federation website (www.cgf.org.cy) contains a list of them, with a diary of events.

WaterWorld Water Park

3km west of Agia Napa, and 13km from Villa Monica is Water World (www.waterworldwaterpark.com or call +357 2372 4444), Cyprus’ best water theme park, open between 10am and 6pm daily, April - October. Tubes, splashes and slides to keep everyone happy!

Aquarium

In Protaras, the Ocean Aquarium Park is an aquarium containing crocodiles, penguins, exotic birds, eels, sharks, turtles and coral – in all, over 400 species of sea life. See www.protarasaquarium.com or call +357 2374 1111.

Boat trips

Half day cruises up and down to coast to view Famagusta and Cape Greko. Leaves from Pernera harbour. See www.theyellowboat-protaras.com and call +357 9962 5245 to book.

Protaras Magic Dancing Light & Water Show
